Known for both vocal and instrumental Smooth Jazz performances, she has built a reputation for elegance, emotional depth, and timeless musicality.

Her artistry has earned international recognition. In 2003, she was named among the Top Ten Jazz Albums in British Columbia, followed by another Top Ten Jazz Albums honor in Ottawa, Canada in 2006. Cincinnati CityBeat Magazine highlighted her early success, naming her one of the Top Local Artists Poised for National Impact after the release of her 2002 album Chances. In 2009, her live recording Me Too Live produced the single “Guess Who I Saw Today,” which reached #1 on the Australian Independent Record Charts.

A Cincinnati-based performer, Ms. Jaz has appeared in venues across the United States. Her rich, velvety tone has drawn comparisons to Phyllis Hyman, Sade, and Anita Baker. She has performed background vocals for acclaimed vocalist Phil Perry at Cincinnati’s Aronoff Center and has opened for national recording artists including Regina Belle, Bobby Blue Bland, Marion Meadows, and Pieces of a Dream. In 2004, she was featured as the guest artist for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) on a Benefit Cruise.

Her recording career began with the release of her first single on the Essence of Now label in 2001. She followed with her debut album Chances on the D’Mar Entertainment label, and later released Me Too – Ms. Jaz Live in 2006.

Ms. Jaz remains active in the community and continues to support arts and cultural initiatives. She has performed at the Cincinnati Juneteenth Festival for 28 consecutive years, becoming one of the event’s most enduring and celebrated musical voices. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Annual Cincinnati Juneteenth Festival, helping shape one of the region’s most important cultural celebrations.

In addition to her music career, Ms. Jaz is a published author of children’s books. Her six‑book series is inspired by her beloved dog, Jackson. Two books in the series have already been released, with the complete set scheduled for release in December 2026.
